Wow it's been a really long time.... Tons of new stories and so on... Lots of games played... Interesting how time passes.
I've been re-learning CFA, so maybe I'll upload some stuff soon.
Oh yeah, and also I've been playing Far Cry 2. What a boring game.... I really tried to like it, I tried hard, but I find myself thinking stuff like "Man... that objective is too far away... Annoying...". You see the game looks great, and the concept is great, but something is missing somehow... I don't know... Maybe the missions aren't rewarding enough to enjoy the trips. For example if the missions were really a blast, then the trip would be fun because you're expecting to find fun on arrival. However most missions are the same, go destroy that, go kill that. And the story is always stagnated only on the beginning of the acts I see some real movement. I do enjoy sniping outpost, in fact I realized the game required an stealth approach, I learned to ambush patrols. Learned to getting outposts by surprise. Learned to have fun doing shenanigans to accomplish the objectives and successfully overcome outposts. And I still do. However I'm not feeling the same "I want" feeling that comes to to me when playing other games. The weapon decay system, the malaria attacking, the fire, the looks, the weather. I like all of them. But ultimately, something is missing... Again, I think the problem are the main missions, the game would have been a lot more fun, if those mission would have had some twists, different mechanics or a real sense of accomplishment. A tiny detail like having some outpost like you and others don't depending on your faction side would have made a huge improvement on the feeling of a war going on. Oh and maybe more lifelike characters would have helped too. Those guys are more bleak than the bar itself....
Bottom line, something is missing on Far Cry 2. I'm still gonna play all the way through it (Haven't finished it yet). Mostly because it looks so good, and I enjoy sniping. Oh and watching your character taking out bullets with tweezers is awesome. XD
